The anti-bicycling revisions proposed by County Roads and Airports will not be heard by the Board of Supervisors at their December 9th meeting as originally planned. SVBC has been hard at work fighting this ordinance and making sure that bicyclists' interests were represented (you can find out more about this issue at http://bikesiliconvalley.org/sccpermit). We discovered that the ordinance as written is probably unconstitutional, and apparently there was enough concern in the County Counsel's office to request that the item be withdrawn.
Thanks to all for their hard work in fighting this unnecessary and overreaching ordinance. It may very well reappear in some other form, so we need to remain vigilant, but, the immediate threat is over.
