SC convention center to downtown SJ ?

Hi SV bikers,

I am in town from SF and am looking for the best way to ride from the Santa Clara Convention Center to Diridon station. I'm checking out the city and VTA bike maps and don't see an obvious route, especially since the Guadalupe trails appears to be closed (and I'd prefer paved). I don't mind traffic, but also don't want to get killed.

any suggestions? thanks!

I'd take the San Tomas Aquino Trail that crosses Tasman right at the Santa Clara Convention Center. It will end at Cabrillo. Turn left and take Cabrillo to Monroe to Market to Park. The trail will be completely low stress, the other streets are just OK. They're marked for slower speeds (ie. 25 mph) and some have bike lanes (albeit somewhat in the door zone).

Come back next year when the Guadalupe Trail is done and it will be a really low stress ride.
