San José: Good Karma Bikes helps the homeless and low-income residents

January 27, 2011 - 2:36pm -- colin

Good Karma Bikes exists to provide homeless and low income working people with safe, reliable bicycle transportation to provide them the freedom and ability to travel to the places, appointments and people that can facilitate their improved quality of life, and sometimes, a way off the streets and into a better life.

There are several ways to volunteer with Good Karma:

  1. Fridays, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at St. Maria Goretti Parish. 2980 Senter Road, San Jose (x-street Capital Expressway). They are in the back parking lot.
  2. Saturdays, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at InnVision’s Montgomery Street Inn; 358 North Montgomery Street (north of HP Pavilion, north of Julian Street).
  3. They also host once-monthly clinics with fully-documented UN refugees where we grant them bicycles.
