Best route from SJSU to Cupertino?

Any suggestions for a good route from San Jose State to Cupertino (Apple campus) is appreciated. The Santa Clara Valley bike maps have this huge hole with no recommended bike routes between these two points. Stevens Creek looks like it is not recommended.

Many thanks in advance.

Google bike directions gives what seems a reasonable route. I've ridden Newhall, but it's a bit narrow; this goes to neighborhood streets to avoid that. And it uses a bike connector near Infinite Loop, too.

Thank you Paul, I'll try this. Has anyone done this route with VTA light rail to Campbell or Caltrain? Perhaps Caltrain from San Jose to Sunnyvale and then down Mary Ave?

Thanks!

That "hole" in the bikeways is pretty lame. Something for SVBC to help us help our officials remedy.

If you want to include transit, I recommend the #23 bus (slowish but comes within walking distance of most Apple buildings) or the #522 (faster but further away).

I live midway between and bike to both locations regularly. To avoid streets like the Alameda and even Naglee, here's the route I would recommend (I rode Pruneridge for years until I found Forbes):

There are a few obvious things you can do with it to exchange twists and turns or distance for time on busier streets. One thing I do (not on the map) to avoid the bridge at the end on Blaney:
- take Homestead to Sunnyvale-Saratoga (same an De Anza Blvd)
- make like a left turn
- use the crosswalk and take the sidewalk towards 280
- I walk my bike in the crosswalks across the ramps

If you really dislike riding with cars, there's a crazy "Perimeter Dr" you can take back by Valco which actually goes under Wolfe.
