Best parking at San Jose Convention Center/Marriott

I'll be attending a conference at the San Jose Marriott near the Convention Center in a couple of weeks. I've never parked my bike in that area so I don't know where the safest, best spots are.

Any recommendations? It's an all-day event.

I've parked my bikes at the racks visible here: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&ll=37.331386,-121.891315&spn=0.00979... . They are in an wide alley about 1 block north of the convention center. I'm pretty sure I also managed to lock my bike outside near the convention center, but perhaps not to a bike rack.
