Westgate to West Valley College (Saratoga)?

Hi,
Are there any suggestions on how to get to West Valley College from West Gate Shopping Center without taking Saratoga Ave. all the way? That street scares me!
I know there are a lot of side streets, but don't know if there is a route worth taking.
Thanks for any suggestions.

You have to cross HW 85 somewhere; not that many options. Try Quito to Allendale, as shown here: http://tinyurl.com/westgate-to-westvalley

You're right--I can take Quito and it looks like it has a bike lane most of the way. I really appreciate your help!

If you're really traffic averse, you can get off Quito Road at Aspesi Drive and zig-zag through some neighborhood streets (http://tinyurl.com/4a2upan). This avoids the narrowest part of Quito Road, and is also a little flatter since it avoids the dips over the creek.

Thanks for the detour. I think I will try this and see how much longer it takes. Quito does get pretty narrow in spots.
