Good Morning, Everyone -
I remember, way way waaaaay back in the 70's, bicycles had to be licensed by the city (or some local authority). Is that still the case? If so, is it something that is enforced? Is it worth bothering with?
I ask because I've gotten back into cycling within the last year and I understand that sometimes LEO's can tend to be rather strict with cyclists...just trying to figure out if not being licensed is an issue.
Thankx,
Chris

No licensing as far as I
No licensing as far as I know.
Just follow the rules of the road and stay calm.

registration allowed by state, but uncommon
See CVC Division 16.7 regarding "Registration and Licensing of Bicycles".
Bicycle registration is offered by some cities and counties as a theft-recovery measure. It's not connected to our right to use the public roadway.
