Bike to Work Day 2010 Sponsorship and Benefits

Be seen by tens of thousands of South Bay and Peninsula cyclists!

The sixteenth annual Bike to Work Day on May 13th, 2010, is the premiere bike celebration in the Bay Area. The Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) oversees Bike to Work Day in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties alongside other organizations.

Your company’s involvement will position it as a community-minded business that is working to help reduce traffic congestion, enhance health, and improve the environment while reaching a large and diverse audience. Sponsors are recognized before, during, and after the event. With your company’s sponsorship, they will also receive a number of media and promotional benefits:

Media outreach

SVBC teams up with community and business leaders to achieve a very high level of media attention for Bike to Work Day, including:

  • Press conferences in both San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties
  • Radio and major TV network coverage
  • Newspaper coverage throughout Silicon Valley and the Peninsula

Posters and reusable bags

  • More than 6,000 posters for the event, featuring your logo, will be distributed to various businesses and public outlets
  • On the day of event, over 6,000 reusable canvas musette bags, featuring your logo, will be given away to cycling commuters
  • Both the posters and the bags are popular mementos - visibility lasts well beyond this event

Website

  • Bike to Work Day draws people from all over the region to our website to learn about bicycling, event details, and Energizer Station locations
  • Your sponsorship will be seen by tens of thousands of visitors
  • Link back to your company’s website from our main Bike to Work Day page

Bike Away from Work Bash

  • Each year SVBC hosts a party on the evening of BTWD to reward members and promote community participation
  • Hundreds of guests attend
  • Carbon sponsorship and above earns a formal presence at this event

Energizer Station Partnership

  • An estimated 30,000 Silicon Valley bicyclists will pass by over 80 Energizer Stations on Bike to Work Day
  • Riders receive musette bags adorned with your logo and filled with treats
  • As a sponsor you will have the chance to provide approved materials for inclusion in the bags and on tabletops
