Los Altos Hills

January 20, 2012 - 12:46am -- corinne

Yesterday Jen and I met with a team in Los Altos Hills--the mayor, the city manager, and the lead for the new Traffic and Safety Committee.

We discussed bicyclist safety issues as well as the frustration some of their residents feel about cyclists, and proactive ways to deal with that.

We made plans to give our Share the Road presentation at an upcoming city event to reach out to the motoring citizens of LAH. We also discussed having a session for elected official, city management, and law enforcement officers from LAH and neighboring cities, along with team and ride leaders, at our upcoming Silicon Valley Bike Advocacy Summit in mid-April.

I walked away from the meeting feeling that the Los Altos Hills town leadership is interested in engaging the bicycling public on a positive level, which is absolutely fabulous, and I look forward to working with them now and in the future.
