Now that I have finished up what was perhaps the most lengthy bachelor's degree in history (it's a long story), I have finally begun to work as a full-time employee of SVBC. Little did I realize that this shift from school to work would also move my entire schedule several hours forward in the day. I've gotten used to early morning classes, work in the afternoon, and then studying in the evenings. I realize now that those days are gone and my circadian rhythm needs a little re-engineering.
Between <a href=http://bikesiliconvalley.org/content/1225">late-night bike parking, Board of Directors meetings, community engagements, or even bicycle-biased trips to the bar, I've been ending my days long after the cars clear out of our building's lot.
I'm not alone. My colleagues are all night owls, forgoing the extended daylight of the season in order to meet those members of the community who toil through the more conventional 9:00 to 5:00 (or, more likely, 8:00 to 6:00!). So, if you drop by the SVBC office at 9:30 in the morning, only to find locked doors, I apologize. Rest assured, though: our days will start soon, and end late!
