Volunteer for bike parking at Stanford Football home games

Every season, SVBC volunteers organize a massive effort to guard the bicycle parking corrals at Stanford football home games. At the corrals near gates 2, 4, and 7, we have kept thousands of bicycles securely guarded each year. The 2013 season is upon us, and we need YOU to help keep thousands of Cardinal fans riding their bikes to the games, confident in the security of our guarded parking system. Congratulations to the winners of the Team and Company Bike Challenges!

SVBC coordinated an awards breakfast this week for the winners of the Team and Company Bike Challenges. It's the enthusiasm from teams like these that help encourage cycling in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Bike to Work Month is an important opportunity for us to raise awareness of riding a bicycle for transportation, and the Bike Challenges help to show how fun and easy it is as well as provoke some exciting competition. Check out the list of this year’s Team Bike Challenge and Company Bike Challenge winners. We hope that YOU'LL take part in these challenges next year! Thanks to SAP for hosting and feeding us at their lovely campus, and Collectively for the generous support that made this a great...

SVBC parks over 750 bikes at Sunset Celebration and Tour de Cure

It’s been a couple of busy weekends with the help of some amazing bike parking volunteers! The month started off with Sunset Celebration Weekend in Menlo Park on June 1 -2. We had two beautiful days of bike riding weather where over 350 cyclists took advantage of our valet bike parking to enjoy the event. The following weekend, June 9, brought us Silicon Valley Tour de Cure, the American Diabetes Association’s annual fundraising ride. The ride drew a record number of participants. We were ready for the crowd as riders returned exhausted and hungry for their free lunch after the ride. We quickly and efficiently parked nearly 400 bikes in just a few hours! SVBC couldn’t have achieved this success without the help of our volunteers. So if you like music, and have a couple hours to help park bikes, SVBC, in partnership with the City of San Jose, will be providing bike parking at the following summertime music festivals: Music in the Park – July 19 Fountain Blues Festival – July 20 San Jose Jazz Summer Fest – August 9-11 Please help us make bike parking at these events successful! We look forward to having you join...
