San José: Trail count and survey

September 28, 2011 - 11:59am -- colin

With the help of many volunteers, the City of San José is conducting its annual trail count and handing out survey postcards, with volunteers posted at five new stations. The City would like your feedback on San José Trails. The survey must be completed by October 3. The link is posted on the San José Parks homepage at:

http://www.sjparks.org/Trails/

Special thanks go to the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy for counting trail users on September 14. Conservancy staff documented a 5% increase at the Coleman Avenue station along the Guadalupe River Trail. This is the fifth year in a row that increasing traffic has been documented at this location.

Trail Count data makes San José more competitive for grant funding, as well as helping to educate decision makers and the community about the value and usage of trails.

Thanks for your participation. Preliminary data about this year’s event will be released tomorrow morning and a detailed report should be posted on the Trail Program website within three weeks.
