Campbell's BPAC met and reviewed the status of several ongoing bike-related projects. The East Campbell Avenue Improvement Project is scheduled for completion the week of August 22nd. This is great news for all the cyclists who bike along Campbell Avenue over the Los Gatos Creek Bridge. The bridge narrowed forcing cyclists into traffic. Now the bridge is wider and safer to ride on. There are still a few items to finish. These include installing some light poles, resurfacing the road, re-attaching the bird netting under Highway 17, and placing concrete around the bridge. None of this should delay the project's completion so be sure to check it out.
The Winchester Boulevard Improvements Project had a minor set-back but now is moving forward. This project focuses on Winchester Avenue between Latimer Avenue and Budd Avenue and calls for decorative street lights, sidewalks and crosswalks, removal of diseased trees, and bulb-outs for pedestrian safety. The project is ready to go out for bids and hopefully construction will begin in July or August.
