City of San Mateo calls for bike count volunteers

The City of San Mateo is looking for a few good volunteers to help them count bikes.

The 2013 counts are coming up in September and we need your help! Last year, volunteers partnered with city staff to document walking and bicycling activity. This information helps us understand how and where to make improvements for the convenience, comfort, and safety pedestrians and cyclists in San Mateo. You would be surprised to learn how many people walk and bike in San Mateo!

There are 27 count locations throughout the city. For each location we will need ONE weekday count and ONE weekend count; however, there will be multiple days available to volunteer to help us complete the two counts per location. Counts will take place in September on Saturday 7th, Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th, and Saturday 14th.

Please see http://www.cityofsanmateo.org/DocumentCenter/View/39108 for links to count times and location details.
