Share your thoughts on the BART Draft Bike Plan

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has been crafting a brand new bicycle plan that defines the strategies it will pursue over the next ten years to double the number of passengers who access stations by bike. Your comments are being solicited by May 27. Have a look at the draft plan (PDF 3 MB) and appendices (PDF 3 MB). You can send comments to bikes@bart.gov.

BART is making its way into Silicon Valley in coming years, so it's important to get involved in the agency's bike planning now. Let's work to get a new transit service that makes combining bikes and transit a pleasure! Our colleagues at East Bay and San Francisco Bicycle Coalitions have worked with BART on the draft plan, and would love Silicon Valley cyclists to get involved and share any thoughts that will make the plan even better.

The new BART Bike Plan focuses on creating world-class bicycle parking facilities, assuring great bicycle access beyond BART’s boundaries, and optimizing bicycle accommodations aboard trains. Your ideas can improve this new Bike Plan. Please take a look and send comments to bikes@bart.gov by May 27, 2012.
